A winsome little ditty that brings to mind the softer side
of Oasis, or perhaps some later Travis. The drums have
been temporarily dropped to focus on some very simple
acoustic guitar riffage and stripped-back vocals.
Some have said that this exposes the genius of the band,
that they can take such simple materials and make a thing
of beauty. Others have decried it as vacuous, nonsensical
tat; probably the same folk who cried 'four days? You must
be joking, never been less than four weeks for me!'.
In the context of the album it kind of works, but as a
standalone single release it seems a dangerous move. It
looks pretty, and it feels pretty, but when it all boils
down to it, this is the musical equivalent of a ball of
cotton wool. If you like the band, you'll love it. If you
don't like them, steer clear. This ain't going to change
your mind.
