"Why would somebody, who just loathes JFAC, upload, and then post all their albums on his blog?!" This is probably what most of you (who know me a little) might think right now. If you would've asked me if I like JFAC, like a year ago, I would've smacked you just for asking.
...but times have changed, and musical taste can broaden with time. Don't be afraid, I haven't become a scenester (or whatever you call them) I just started getting into the band's music for several reasons... I'll let you know why.
It all started with the massive internet leakage of their album 'Genesis', like 3-4 days ago. I heard that the album will be totally different in style than their previous stuff (which I still hated by that time) so when I saw it posted on the forums, I decided to download, and give it a listen. Well, the news was right, it's devoid of the -core elements, breakdowns, riffs that try (and fail) to sound br00tal, bree abuse, etc. Genesis is much more a semi-technical, modern sounding death metal album. More sophisticated than anything they've released before, it's like they've found the right way to do it. So I played it a few times, and found it better and better with every listen. I was thinking about throwing in Doom...
...my opinion on Doom, like a week ago was that it's a very shitty album that lacks originality, skill and creativity, but has way too much fucked-up riffs and breee vocals. Plus the band and their EP are terribly over-hyped. I've listened to Genesis a few times, and my opinion about the band was starting to change...
...yesterday morning (around 3 a.m.) I arrived home tired, and, uh... not really sober. :) I decided to give Doom a listen, since I got to like several bands I hated before, so why not give this another chance too? Well, to be honest, the songs 'Knee Deep' and 'Suspended By The Throat' killed more brain cells than the alcohol I consumed that day, but suprisingly I really enjoyed it! I noticed some great breakdowns and interesting riffs, and all I could say was "phew... this ain't that bad afterall...". Later, after having some sleep, I felt an urge to play the EP again... I just couldn't understand how I didn't notice all this awesomeness before. And indeed, some songs kick plenty of ass on that EP.Sure, I feel a little bit stupid, but times change, and so do people. No, I didn't convert to "faghat emo boy", it's just that I enjoy the music and like the band regardless of what I've previously thought about them.

Try Genesis if you're a death metal fan, but in this case you might not like their previous stuff. If you liked Doom and the demo, you might lose interest in the new album, but I think it's still worth a try. Not recommended for narrow minded people!
This band will definetly leave it's mark in the history of extreme metal (maybe they already have?) they've popularized deathcore and bulit up a HUGE fanbase, then changed their style to straight-up death metal and even play it good, and with a distinctive stlye and sound. All I can say is wow... (+ points for the weird name and bovine-skull obsession)

Because of all the boredom caused by the lack of a good internet connection, I decided to do some random stuff here at home in my free time... such as digging out my age-old nintendo that was given to me by my cousin about 10 years ago. I can still remember those days... staying up late just to play Mega Man X, Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat II... and tons of other games. It was a bit nostalgic, but still very entertaining to give it another shot. Yesterday, I got my connection fixed, so guess what... I decided to catch up with myself and leech shitloads of music off teh intrawebs. I stumpled across Powerglove on an allied blog. They seemed interesting, so I grabbed it, and I was surprised how good they were. Themes and in-game musics of computer/console games, played in flashy, fast and technical power metal with lots of shredding and sweet melodies. It's quite funny and very entertaining if you're familiar with the original 8 bit sounds, but it's a good listen even if you aren't.

""Reflections", their third release shows little signs of following the notorious "Gothenburg" stylings of the time, instead working as a proficient Death Metal album.
The album derives the main crux of its compositions from free-flowing tremolo bursts, which cascade in and out of one another to create a clever divergence of ideas in a logical form. Although these riffs are of a basic formula, they are used extremely well to convey a variety of different themes throughout the album. The music is typical of the melodic Swedish Death Metal bands of the earlier years, with the best description pertaining to a less complex and chaotic version of At The Gates. The structures are coherent, precise and compact. Whilst some of the segments are more impactive or hard hitting as was idiosyncratic of earlier the Swedish sound, for the most the band relies on subtle melodies to develop the plot of each song."

Budweiser was the third full-length album released by Boston, Massachusetts hardcore punk/speed metal band, Gang Green. It was released in 1989, a year after the EP, I81B4U. It was the last full album of new material to emerge from the band until 1997's EP, Back & Gacked, but was followed by a live album, Can't LIVE Without It in 1990. After the album was released, bass player Joe Gittleman was sacked and replaced by D.R.I.'s Josh Pappe in time to tour.
It was the first time the band had recorded outside of their Boston, Massachusetts hometown as well. Rhode Island was the new setting, with Tom Soares replacing Daniel Rey at the mixing and production table. A change of scenery, to Rhode Island – near the heart of the burgeoning New York hardcore scene – saw a marked change in sound for the band, although it had the same members as had performed previously. Songwriting was no longer a solo effort on the part of Doherty with a few token collaborations. Nearly every track was written in partnership with another member – even Joe Gittleman was the sole writer of two tracks, this maybe contributing to his urge to form a new band which he was free to do after this release.
The lyrics changed from fun, beerdrinking, womanizing anthems to more socio-political themes – except "Bedroom of Doom" which reverted to form, albeit momentarily. "We Can Go" was an acknowledgement that they knew they had disappointed some fans by "selling out" or "going metal" – but it contained the message that no matter what the genre, they could still enjoy a punk or metal show as it was the music – not the dress code or hair length – which counted. "Church of Fun" was a stab at the widespread prominence of evangelism – it was almost obligatory for bands, whether metal or punk, to write a song on this subject. Musically, the up-beat funtime catchy melody had dissipated somewhat, making way for a more darker mood which only returns on "Bedroom of Doom" only to give way to full on thrash metal on "Casio Jungle" – an attack on electronica music. The songs are slower, which means they are not played as fast as they can possibly go with this band. There is even a song featuring an orchestra – "Ballad" – which although was tongue-in-cheek was still a departure in genre even for that time.
Overall, the album appeased the hardcore punk fans with its "local" NYHC-style sound. It also still bore a certain amount of metallic attributes to keep the thrash fans happy – even they could not deny the message in "We Can Go" – and above all, proved the band had more than one dimension lyrically – this obviously being the point, according to the album's punworthy title.

The music is very dark and creepy with necropheliac overtones. Madness, despair and just plain whacked out people are the themes of this album. Hard to find but well worth the money (I wouldn't pay too much for it).
This was before T.S.O.L. grew their hair out and try to be like all the other "hair" bands. Angry neo-punk/goth music. Strongly recommended. --- Joseph P. Ulibas

Release Notes:
Someone get Amy Adams on the Broadway stage, stat! She may not have the huge
pipes that are supposed to be necessary for singers nowadays, but based on her
sweet performance of three songs on this soundtrack, she gets a tune. Leaving
aside High School Musical-style contemporary pop, Disney returns to its sources
here, with a fairy tale set to a traditional-minded score by Alan Menken (The
Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, etc.). The first three songs are loving,
well-crafted homages to Disney classics, such as Cinderella and Snow White;
tellingly, the lovely "Happy Working Song" (with lyrics by Stephen "Wicked"
Schwartz) sounds like it could have been lifted from any number of Disney
movies--and that's meant as a compliment. Carrie Underwood brings us back into
the 21st century with the single "Ever Ever After", which in comparison feels a
bit more anonymous. Menken also supplies several instrumental cues, often
reprising themes alluded to in the songs, and James Marsden wraps things up with
a hilariously straight-faced version of "That's Amore."
The other release has issues in the rip, most notably the beginning of tracks 5
and 6.

Release Notes
The Cool Table project has been in the works since early
2005. Starting off as more of an inside joke than a serious
hip-hop ensemble, Amsterdam linked forces with Abolish to
form the group after coming home from a year of college in
Eugene. The joke would be on them. After putting out
back-to-back mixtapes in the summers of 2005 & 2006, the duo
finally felt the demand from the fans to put out an album.
The result? You Can’t Sit Here, Amsterdam’s innovative
brainchild & the group’s first full-length effort to date.
The album drops in August, featuring guest appearances from
Only-One (of Sandpeople), Iznis, The Kid Espi & Hot In
Pursuit.

In the pursuit of totalitarian creativity, they decided to
pen an original and completely conceptual album, drawing
inspiration from the most entertaining and tongue-in-cheek
high school movies of the late 80’s and 90’s. The duo
quickly paved the way for their sound by choosing
larger-than-life beats & penning clever lyrics centered
around typical school daze themes.

While the two emcees come from very different backgrounds
and represent different areas of the West Coast, they effuse
personality at the drop of a dime and remain dedicated to
making good music both within and outside of The Cool Table
theme. Amsterdam’s debut solo album Terminology is currently
available in stores & online. Both emcees pride themselves
on their versatility and regard their solo music as
testament to that.

The Cool Table has played over 100 shows in their small
lifetime, including opening slots for the likes of E-40,
Twista, Tech-N9ne, Andre Nickatina, Sweatshop Union, Blue
Scholars, Cunninlynguists, Pack FM, Living Legends, Moka
Only (formerly of Swollen Members), Myka Nyne, Cool Nutz &

Kelley Polar, born in Dubrovnik, Croatia to parents in the US Diplomatic Corps is an alternative dance vocalist and producer.

Originally a classical violist (he studied at Juilliard), where he collaborated with Metro Area's Darshan Jesrani and Morgan Geist on tracks like "Miura", "The Art of Hot" and "Caught Up". He released a number of EP's as part of The Kelley Polar Quartet on Environ Records. His first solo album, Love Songs of the Hanging Gardens which was released in 2005, contains elements of house, disco and pop. His follow up I Need You To Hold On While The Sky Is Falling is due to be released in March 2008.
